I got this as a prize for placing in the mead category at NERHBC. Deep golden color with a smattering of bubbles on the surface as I pour into a glass. Sweet non descript honey aromas with a sharp apple on top. Light vanilla notes but very little in the way of oak or bourbon. Sweet honey almost cloying in the flavor with hints of apple and a light bit of alcohol. Little to no oak or barrel character. Thick body with a sweet sticky almost syrupy mouthfeel. Clean and flavorful, but very sweet and feels like it needs something to balance it or a hint more attenuation. Tannins maybe?

375 ml bottle purchased from the meadery. Clear gold color. Aroma is honey first and foremost with traces of peaches and almost a melon hint.

The peach is a very subtle undertone after the sweet honey base. The body of this mead seems to be a bit lighter than a few of the other Moonlights I sampled recently. Still good, but not as much peach as I was expecting.

375 ml bottle purchased from the meadery. Ruby with a pink hue color. Aroma is a blast of honey and plenty of strawberry notes.

Everybody knows honey is sweet but the sweetness upfront of this one is over the top. A tad of rhubarb tries to balance it... And it is in fact noticeable here but, it still doesn’t balance it.

375 ml bottle purchased from the meadery. Clear yellow with a mild sugary film around the edge of the glass. Aroma is crisp fresh apples with honey and pie crust.

Flavor is damn near an apple pie. Sliced Apple, trace of cinnamon and light amount of booze. No alcohol burn, real sweet Apple finish. Damn nice.

Bottle courtesy of GT2. Pours tiny reddish golden with some nice looking legs on the glass. Smell is fruity with high quality apple cider, lemon peal, dry soil, alcohol and hints of cinnamon and honey. Taste is tiny sweet, sour, fruity and slightly spicy with honey, pie crust, smashed cider apples, lemon peal and alcohol. Mouthfeel is slightly dry, slightly tart, boozy and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, sour, fruity and tiny spicy with tart apples, lemon peal, dry soil, alcohol and hints of honey. Bit too aggressive on the alcohol but still quite tasty.

Sampled at Moonlight Meadery. Aroma is cinnamon, and what I would call a caramel note. Dirty caramel. The cinnamon helps cut through honey sweetness and gives a lively pop on the tongue. Bright and clean finish that ends on the honey. Damn fine after dinner drink.

Picked this up at a local store. pale yellow appearance. Nose is sweet with a lot of vanilla, baked apples, pineapple and oak. Thick, very sweet, baked apples at the middle and finish. Lots of cinnamon and honestly a pretty straight forward winter mead. but very delicious in small quantities.

Bottle sample at Provisions - Northampton, MA. Pours clear, reddish-purple. Lovely, with lots of jammy blueberries. Decadent and sweet, with layers of honey and berry fruits. Full bodied, thick, somewhat chewy. Finishes with light warmth, lots of sticky sugars, delicious interplay between the fruits and the honey. Extremely drinkable and tasty. World-class.

Bottle sample at Provisions - Northampton, MA. Great tangy berries, restrained honey sugars. Medium bodied. Lightly warming to finish. Great balance. There’s a berry tang that beautifully cuts into the rich honey sweetness. Excellent mead.
