Description
Our founder Oli Lemke welded his first own brewing plant in a friend’s garage in 1998. Infected by Oli’s euphoria, his friends turned into builders and helped to transform a derelict S-Bahn unit at the Hakescher Markt into a brewery. On the 21st November 1999 his dream became reality: The Brauhaus Lemke opened for the very first time.

Draught. Light redish brown with a short lived cream head. Aroma dominated by fruit. Flavour is again quite fruity with a strong almost burning base and finish. Palate is strange, gets more powerful the longer it goes. A couple of these would be tough

Tap at the brewpub. Pours clear, shiny gold with a medium, white head. sweet malt aroma, some sugar, light booze. Medium to big sweet flavor, strong malt backbone, some mild fruitiness, light hay bitters. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation, and smooth. Sweet finish, light alcohol notes, sugar, rich white bread, very faint bitterness of hay. Quite decent overall.

Tap at the brewpub, Berlin. Pours a truly hazy gold with a moderate, white head. Big wheat nose, light tang, yeast, banana. Medium sweet flavor, nice wheat, nice toast, mild yeast, light banana. Medium in body with average carbonation. Crisp, light dry finish, wheat and yeast, bread, light spices. Very, very good stuff. I like the subtle dryness.
