Description
Our founder Oli Lemke welded his first own brewing plant in a friend’s garage in 1998. Infected by Oli’s euphoria, his friends turned into builders and helped to transform a derelict S-Bahn unit at the Hakescher Markt into a brewery. On the 21st November 1999 his dream became reality: The Brauhaus Lemke opened for the very first time.

(Draft at Lemke Hackescher Markt, Berlin, 14 May 2026) Pale amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty nose with notes of bread, apricots, orange peel and herbs. Malty taste with bread, herbs, apricots and a mild grassy/herbal bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Well balanced bock. Nice one.

From tap at the brewpub near Hackescher Markt in Berlin 10.05.26 after the IAEA congress in Jena. Translucent straw colour. Persistent white head and lacing. Aroma and taste if sweet pale malt, syrup and German hops. Full mouthfeel. Good drinkability.

Tap. Light cloudy Pale Golden with medium white head Aroma of malt, fruity esters,, no hops. Taste is mainly fruity estery, light malt in background, no hops. Kein Kölsch, still enjoyable.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a hazy, deep red with a pinkish head. Dry, lactic nose with faint cherry notes. Light body, super dry, super tart with faint cherry notes. The tartness is quite challenging. 280226
