Bottle. Clear, dark brown/amber body under a fine beige head. Pleasant aroma of dark malt with pine and hint of coffee and dark fruit. Taste is medium sweet, smooth dark malt, coffee, chocolate, pine, red fruit and balancing bitterness. Balanced body with quite long lasting aftertaste. Nice, smooth and tasty Black IPA the way I like it.

Solsletta 181222. Dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, grapefruit. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee, grapefruit, pine, toffee, dried fruit. OK/Nice beer.

Bottle. Slightly unclear, deep brown body under a big beige head. Strange aroma with malt, cooked vegetables and and unpleasant sent. Taste is skunky and unpleasant, undrinkable. Guess something was wrong with my bottle.

Bottle. An unclear dark brown beer with a finger-thick dark beige head leaving lacing. The aroma has quite a lot of butterscotch, with toffee, dark dried fruit and a touch of resin. It's full to medium bodied, nicely carbonated and semi-dry, with a decent bitterness. Roasted malts, toffee, coffee, dark dried fruit, hints of bonfire and resin in the flavor. Lasting finish with a good dash of toast and ash. Some butterscotch. Not what I expect from a Black IPA, sort of decent though. 221218

Bottle. A big fluffy white head leaves lacing over an unclear orange colored body. The aroma is hop forward, with orange, pine cones and grapefruit. Some flower notes and a tropical fruit hint. It's medium bodied and a bit effervescent on the palate, quite dry, with a pleasant bitterness. Sort of yeasty flavor, might not have been fully fermented, with a touch of pale malts. As in the aroma, the hops dominate, with pine cones, resin, orange and grapefruit, some flowery notes towards the end. Not too bad this one, I like the hop profile, but it feels a bit unfinished. 221214

Bottle. A dense two-finger beige leaves lacing over an unclear brown body. Intense chocolate, cocoa, bonfire-ish aroma that is a bit too much for me. Dark dried fruit and a spiced, herbal note too. It's medium to full bodied and nicely carbonated, quite dry, with a light bitterness. Cocoa, bonfire, sourness, charcoal and some dark dried fruit in the flavor. Lasting bonfire-sour finish. Not my kind of Christmas beer this one. 221214
