330ml Bottle (Thanks FatPhil) - Copper brown in colour with no head. Lightly malty aroma with some faint fruity and slightly roasted notes and a metallic element. Malty taste which is slightly metallic at first but this soon wears off. Light fruity notes along with some faint roasted notes are also detected and the finish has a light bitterness.

Bottle, 6.0%. Weak metallic aroma, fades away after a while. Clear greyish dark amber colour. Very small white head. Malty flavour, quite rough, slightly dusty.

Opaque black color, not much head. Coffee, prunes, raisins - kind of dry and smoked-burn aroma. Lots of raisins, toasted malts and caramel malts. Roasted aftertaste. A bit too much caramel malts, but otherwise quite good. Different and more interesting than Finnish version.

Bottled (thanks omhper). Opaque black colour, not much head. Aroma is raisins, mild roast and caramel. Flavour is raisins, caramel, roast and some slight smoked notes. Aftertaste is smoke and roast along with chocolate. 6 4 7 4 14
Bottled (as Julbock 2008) bought in Alko. Pitch black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is mild roast, some licorice as well as ryebready hints. Flavour is salted licorice,. some roasted malts as well as soem slight notes of cooked vegetables. Ends rather ashy and chocolaty. 6 4 7 3 13.

Courtesy of Degarth. Pours brilliant amber with almost no head. The aroma is bold yummy caramel blended with Concord grape jam sweetness. The taste has mild notes of sweet nearly grainy malts. That note gets crushed by sweet dark fruity esters and bold notes of caramel and sweet caramel flavored salt water taffee. Very nice but it adds up a bit too sweet after a few ounces are consumed.

Courtesy of Degarth. Pours deep clear amber with thin off white head. The mild aroma contains notes of sweet malts, some fruitiness from berries mixed with a tart berry component. The taste is much the same as the nose with berry fruitiness up front and a hint of fruit tartness. It then becomes malty with hints of milk chocolate, roasted malts, a dash of caramel and some mild nuttiness. Interesting.
