(Bottle 50 cl) Incredibly strong, beautiful smell of (milk-)chocolate as soon as this beer is poured. Almost too good to be true, which it also turns out to be as the aroma comes from artificial chocolate aroma. (See back label) What a downer... Also lots of chocolate in the flavour which apart from that is very mild and mellow - the dark malts don’t really shine through. Light body. Very dark with a tint of red. Big light brown head. I certainly don’t approve of artificial flavourings in beer but have to admit, that I quite like this. 170405

(Bottle 50 cl) A bit odd to find a beer by this name in Finland - complete with a Danish/Norwegian "ø" and not the Swedish/Finnish "ö" in the spelling of "øl" (beer). Apparantly an attempt to make a beer inspired by the vikings mead - with a bit of honey added. Straw golden, very limited head, filtered, lots of carbonation. And no, the honey is not detectable, but there’s a neat little hoppiness in the palate. 160405

(Bottle 33 cl) The strong version of Lapin Kulta is dark golden, with a small but existing head. Very pronounced malt sweetness, strong alcohol and a pretty harsh, dry bitterness. Typical malt liquor. 140405

Bottled. Golden coloured, white bubbly head, which disappears quickly. Honeyish malty aroma with hints of licorace. Flavour of licorace and a bit of malt. Makes mouth a bit sticky. Very refreshing beer.

Bottled. Yellow colour, mediumsized white head. Bitter bready aroma, also a bit earthy/mouldy hints. Flavour is mainly maltish. Pretty watery, leaves mouth sticky. Hides alcohol well.
