Draught @ De Arendsnest, Amsterdam. Aroma has sweet sugary tones, vanilla and quite nothing else. Flavour as sweet vanilla, licorice, toasted sugar. Malty palate. Alcohol is present but it only balances (or tries to) the sweetness. Oversweet, but then again I asked for it. I like the licorice tones here.

On tap. Pours a clear amber with moderate head. Aromas of toffee, sweet malts, pineapple and a little rubber. Flavors are same but richer and with more tropical fruit. Smooth, full and somewhat chewy. A very good take on a big North American Imperial.

Bottle at Masion du LKS. Thanks Leighton! It pours clear deep orange with a medium white head. The nose is soft orange, peach, tangerine, apricot, oily Cointreau, bready malts, muffin, honey and hot cross bun. The taste is bitter-sweet, oily, orange, tangerine, Cointreau, pine, apricot, some grassy/hay notes and zest with a slick, dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Smooth and rather easy-going for the style. Nice.

Bottle shared in London - picked up at Kris Wines. Pours clear, bright gold with a frothy white head. Lots of ripe citrus on the nose, some oily pine. Medium sweet flavor with loads of piney hops, low bitterness, bread, tangerine, orange, alcohol. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Resinous finish, lots of ripe and gooey citrus, some booze, pale bread. Pretty good stuff overall.

Pale/ burnt orange. 1 finger white head with big and tight bubbles. Smells like Citra and Galaxy hops with a lot of nectarine juice and grapefruit skins. Taste is similar. Very American style. A lot of sweetness and the straight up citrus rind finish is tough to deal with. Still a solid DIPA

Bottle 330ml (from bierkoning, tks Edo!)
Clear deep amber color, good white head, lots of lace. Excellent hop oily piney-resiny aroma. Medium to full-bodied. Resiny, piney hoppyness. Nice bitterness. Clean malt base. Good DIPA with a good drinkability. Perhaps a bit simple for 5 hop beer, but tasty anyhow.
