Description
When the young Viennese banker Franz Schaup started brewing beer in 1858, he did not expect his small brewery to develop into one of the most successful breweries in Austria over the years.
In the meantime, the Zipf brewery near the Attersee has a proud 13 beers and 3 types of hops, the refreshment with hop lemonade for adults, to their range. A total of 170 employees work directly at the location in Zipf. They are the ones who ensure that everything runs smoothly every day and are responsible for a large part of the success of the Zipfer brand.
Despite the numerous technical innovations and a merger with Brau Union Österreich AG in 1970, the careful use of resources and brewing with natural hops were always in the foreground.

Bottle. It’s an unclear, amber beer with a big, creamy, off-white head. Banana and caramel on the nose, sweetish and with hints of higher alcohols. The cloves are very subdued, but show up in the flavor, along with the banana and caramel. There’s a slightly unpleasant touch of acetone too in the flavor. Medium body, effervescent. Some bitterness in the finish, with a good dash of cloves. Seems to be a bit unclean, but drinkable indeed. 100108

Diry yellow to orange with a towering white head. High bead. Aroma is yeast and wheat with the expected lemon, lemon zest, cloves and a hint of banana - also has some tropical fruits (lychee, passionfruit). Taste has the usual sweet and sour flavours with the balance decidedly towards sweet. No real tang at the finish. Nice fruit flavours and wheaty without being too heavy but a little on the sweet side.

Pours a dark amber gold in the glass with nice white head. Nose and taste is predominately citrus with banana, soft wheats and hay. I should re rate this. It’s been awhile. Rated 1/15/2000
