Manchester Beer Festival 2017. Malty ale, but not as strong tasting as its nose suggests it will be.

Tried at the Golden Eagle, Lincoln. Nice but average golden beer coloured beer. Slight hoppy and fruity aroma and taste.

Cask at the Crosse Keys (JDW), City of London. Golden amber with a loose cream head; sweet fruity aroma; a jammy fruit taste; and a dry finish with a resinous bitterness that cuts nicely through the fruit. Not bad.

Cask @ Abel Heywood, Manchester. Deep golden-amber with a thick creamy head. Crisp, with a light malty bitter character, and a sweetness in its nose.

From ’The Beer Studio’ range. Red brown colour. Aroma and flavour have some caramel and red fruit sweetness. Refreshingly bitter.

Dark amber with a creamy head. It’s strength is evident, but not overbearing, with a crisp and gentle liquorice sweetness - there’s some nose in this respect.

Lots of promise with the deep brown colour and lots of dark bittersweet malts and toffee in the aroma. Flavour doesn’t have enough depth though and the texture is too thin.
