Manchester Beer Festival 2017. Malty ale, but not as strong tasting as its nose suggests it will be.

Cask at the Crosse Keys (JDW), City of London. Golden amber with a loose cream head; sweet fruity aroma; a jammy fruit taste; and a dry finish with a resinous bitterness that cuts nicely through the fruit. Not bad.

Dark amber with a creamy head. It’s strength is evident, but not overbearing, with a crisp and gentle liquorice sweetness - there’s some nose in this respect.

Lots of promise with the deep brown colour and lots of dark bittersweet malts and toffee in the aroma. Flavour doesn’t have enough depth though and the texture is too thin.
