Lineman had been a long-planned project of founder/owner/brewer Mark Lucey. Having been obsessed with beer and heavily involved in homebrewing for all his adult life, it was always an ambition to open a brewery or have a commercial brewing project that would allow him to produce a diverse range of beer. Bottle split at Craft Beer Junction, thanks to Danny Boyo, 18/10/23. Black with a tan cap that thins to the edge. Nose is bitter roast, cocoa powder, charr, light spice, dark malts. Taste comprises dried fruit rinds, charr, spice, bourbon rinse, chocolate, dark malts. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Not bad if a little stuck between 3rd and 4th gear for the style.

Keg at L Mulligan Grocer, Dublin, 05/11/23. Light black with a decent khaki head that thins to a swirl. Nose is dark malts, raisins, toffee, light charr. Taste comprises toasted brown bread, raisins, toffee, ashen nip, cocoa sprinkle. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Decent Schwarzbier.

Keg at the Porterhouse, Parliament Street Dublin, 05/11/23. Lightly hazed golden yellow topped with an off white head. Nose is orange zest, grass, soft malts, mandarin, melon. Taste comprises grass, pineapple, tangerine, straw, crisp malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with mellow juicy hop bitterness. Decent enough easy drinker.
