Cloudy amber w thin head. Aroma is subtle earthy and mushroomy stuff, w a little bit of caramel. Caramelly, a touch yeasty, not really Bristolian, definitely new world.

Dark brown, aroma is light fudge, choc, and a bit of fruitiness. Med impy, slight roast, fudgey but also fairly yeasty. Quite light for the style, maybe think of it as "extra stout" and you’ll be happy.

From a 500ml bottle on 29/11/2012 (ABV listed as 5% rather than 5.2%). Pours a clear dark amber with a small head. Has a quite strong aroma of chocolate and caramel malt. The flavour follows suit with lots of chocolate and caramel, along with some nutty, bready and roasty notes. Finishes with a nice medium bitterness. All up, a very pleasant malt dominated brew.

Bottle. Dark reddish brown with a light tan head. Aroma of nuts and chocolate, vanilla, anise. Not much sweetness in the taste - roasted malt, chocolate, toasted nuts, vanilla. Astringent coffee and a fair bit of anise at the end. Says to serve chilled, but I liked it better as it got to about 12C. A little thin, but a nice porter all the same.
