Cask gravity @ GBBF 2014. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity spicy yeasty aroma with weak hints of citrus. Fruity malty spicy yeasty flavor. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty finish.

From a bottle this has a green veggie aroma. Perhaps like asparagus. Taste is surprisingly not as bad as I thought it would be. Actually not a bad tasting beer but was hoping for a little more heat, yes, a little more heat would make it more interesting. Sometimes that not hot pepper thing is a little annoying but overall not bad.

Bottle. A- Malty, real maple syrup, caramel, nutty. A- Copper color, clear liquid, quickly fading brown head. T- Malty, subtle maple syrup, caramel, bready. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, malty finish. O- Not too shabby. I could actually smell and sort of taste the maple syrup. I am not a brown ale fan but this one was alright. Could benefit from more of a nutty taste and a tab more maple on the palate otherwise good.

Can: Honey and grapefruit nose, malty but balanced. Crystal clear amber, medium head. Grapefruit flavor, again with a rich honey malt backbone. Full body, soft carbonation. I haven’t had a Tommyknocker beer in years, but I’m glad I gave them another try. This was good and they seem to have gotten better.

From a can you know this is double ipa. Somewhat volatile broad hop aroma lacking of any BO at all. The pour is viscous - thick rocky head. Taste is big dull impy ipa kick in the noggin. Wew, just like the pour this stuff comes across thick and viscous on the palate. In your face IPA high alky impact. Difficult for a lager lover, to say the least. Preservative soapy mouth coating thing for a finish. There, you have it, now my taste buds are wrecked for the rest of the evening.

Many thanks to Chris for this bottle! Smooth fresh, slightly sour, slightly spicy. Fresh, slightly grainy, nearly no bitterness. Smooth, fresh, but a bit too characterless. Easy to drink though.
