Efes Pilsener je najpoznatije tursko pivo i svojevrsni nacionalni simbol.
Ime nosi po drevnom gradu Ephesus (turski Efes), jednom od najvažnijih gradova antičkog svijeta. Efez je bio veliko grčko, a kasnije rimsko trgovačko i kulturno središte te dom veličanstvenog Temple of Artemis, jednog od sedam svjetskih čuda antičkog svijeta. Danas su njegovi ostaci među najposjećenijim arheološkim lokalitetima u Turskoj.

Sample, thanks oh6gdx! Clear golden, mid sized head. Syrupy aroma. Sweet with medium body and rounded, un-firm mouthfeel. Syrupy grain and slight alcohol. A sloppy industrial strong lager.

Bubbly amber gold with a bubbly / frothy white head and a sweet cereal aroma. Crisp and fresh, sweet(corn), cereal malt and grassy bitterness.

A World Cup Of Beers#9. TURKEY. An international brew with the football and a lightly carbonated golden lager, which could actually do with a bit more activity as it's quite dull in most characteristics. Some maltiness, light bitterness, eminently missable and I wouldn't recommend going cold Turkey in this instance. I first had this about 25 years ago in a Turkish restaurant in Dalston when living in London. Drank whilst watching the first second game for sides in the tournament - Czech Republic vs South Africa.

A crystalline straw-coloured beer with a fine white head. A herbal aroma, light maltiness, perhaps a touch of skunk, but overall pleasant. The taste is malty with lemon notes. After a few sips, the herbal flavour becomes more pronounced, and the bitterness becomes slightly noticeable. Full-bodied, medium carbonation, velvety smooth, with a barely perceptible herbal bitterness. OK.
