Clean, dry with lots of orange. Doesn’t seem as fully attenuated as last years, but apparently that’s down to the spelt. Also not as funky, I want Brett

Very easy drinking. Clean tropical notes, a bit of malt, has that slightly musty NA note, but very smooth and pleasant . Impressive for NA

Dark thick pour, big head, which dissipates slightly and then stays. Rich roasty coffee nose, some vanilla and caramel sweetness from the barrels, with a clean, off-dry finish. Drinking well now, but I think it may get more impressive with time.

Bottle from Brewcraft at home on CNY 2022. Dark dark brown black pour, opaque. Light tan head. Aroma is sharp sour cherry, leather, wood, light smoke. Taste is bitter smokey roasted wood with dark fruit and sour cherry. Barrel aging hasn’t tamed the sour fruitiness. Not my favorite combination but not uninteresting. Palate is on the slightly heavy side of medium. Slight treacly sweetness in the finish, along with nice bitter bite and alcohol warmth. Not bad but wouldn’t get again.
