Originally rated May 2010. This German Kölsch pours a clean yellow colour with a big white frothy head, great retention and good lacing. Hoppy nose with some citrus notes and dandelions. Best before date written on the back label is 26.11.10. First sip tasted really grainy, but after that, the hop balances things with also, a touch of honey. Crisp mouthfeel and lightly bodied. Decent Kölsch that is refreshing, until it is kept out a little while, and then becomes a bit boring.

50cl bottle. BB 4/2011. Poured golden color, frothy white head. Malty, slighty grassy aroma. Flavor is kinda dull, very bready malty, cardboard finish. Slightly bitter finish. Not what I expected this beer to be.

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is bready malts, hay, some grains and mild tropical fruityness lurking in the background. Flavour is hay, caramel, grains, some earth and mild hayish notes. Quite pleasant for a non alcoholic beer.

Yellow body, modest carbonation, decent head, just about average appearance. Aroma of cereal grains, water, slight hint of alcohol. Taste is smooth and a little sour, aftertaste of fermented grains. Very easy to drink like a lot of German beers but hard to pick out of a crowd. PS First Kölsch!!

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark yellow color with a huge soapy yellow-white head that lingered and produced great lacing. The aroma was tart, grapey and sweetish. The flavor was sweet, tart and lightly malty with a strong artificial grape presence and an undertone reminiscent of boiled eggs. The finish was long, tangy and grapey. Medium body.

Bottle from Oddbins. Gold pour with a white head. Grapefruit, tangerines and a splash of herbs in the nose. Herbs, hops, pineapple and grapefruit flavours. Fruity, bitter finish.
