Fra fat på Zum Szültenburger i Göttingen 7 Mar 12. Gylden. Lavt skum som fester seg til glasset. God maltaroma. Smaken er litt søt malt - men ikke overdose. Tilløp til syrlig ettersmak. Apertif/tørsteslukker etter en lang dags ferd fra Tromsø sammen med kollegaer fra ITa/Klientdrift på vei til CeBIT.

50cl bottle. Pours golden with steady bubbles and a generous head. The nose has light malt and a vegetable stock note. The taste is initially vegetal, then there is a clean, crisp malt note followed by a clean herby finish. The palate is light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall, ordinary but it grows.

500 ml. bottle. Clear, pale golden colour with a froathy white head, what diminishes quickly to a small cap, some laces. Aroma of malts, some sourish yeasts and a little bit of corn. Medium body with a lively carbonation. Short, light bitter-fruity finish with corn and some grassy hops. My first kölsch beer, maybe these are better when drunk fresh in Germany?

Smells a little off, really doesn’t taste that great - doesn’t really illustrate how a kolsh is different from a lager or bad pilsner. Just seems partway between both.

On tap at GBBF 2010. Clear golden colour, and a nice white head. Fresh grain and a light hoppy aroma. A fine sweetness and light fruity flavour.

Pale yellow colour, white head. Quite grassy aroma, sweet malts, slight caramel, white bread. Aroma rather sweet and bit hoppy. Finish quite hoppy for a Koelsch. Quite nice and refreshing.
