(bottle) Clear golden colour with a small foamy white diminishing head. Slightly sweet malty aroma with a fruity tinge and also a light hoppiness. Almost dry malty start with fruity notes, moderately bitter hoppy finish, slightly metallic. Still a drinkable low-price Kölsch.

Bottled at Delirium, Gothenburg. Light golden with a small white head. Light fruity aroma. Taste is fruity with a mild, bitter aftertaste. A little flat. (051008)

(Bottle 50 cl) Pale golden with a decent, white head. Very refined, crisp and dry body - albeit a bit thin. Sharp and pure, fresh and prickling with a wee touch of fruit. 240901

A yellow beer with a nice white head. The aroma is sweet malty and hoppy, while the flavor is sweet with a dry hoppy end, but a thin body.

(Bottle 33 cl) Very beautiful clear amber colour with a fine, creamy head leaving a nice lacework in my glass. Lightly fruity nose. Incredibly soft body with notes of caramel. The main feature in this beer though are the fantastic fruity esters from the ale yeast. Light bitter finish. Incredibly delicate brew and much more interesting than a normal Kölsch. 040905

Bottle. Pale golden colour, small white head. Ok bitterness, otherwise quite clean and crisp flavour. Nice enough beer, but quite one-dimensional.

(bottle) Clear copper colour with a medium frothy, slightly off-white head. Hoppy aroma with a blend of malts and caramel. Dry and malty start with a nice fruitiness and a short but tasty soft bitter finish. Looks and tastes like an Altbier-Kölsch hybrid, but it is anyway very interesting. This brew was established at first in 1996 when Cologne celebrated the 600-years-proclamation of the pre-democratic medieval city constitution ("Verbundbrief" of September 14th 1396). This constitution was a manifesto of political balance between the craftsmen guilds, on the one hand, and the tradesmen on the other, organised in “Gaffeln”, and it remained in force until the political reorganisation during the French occupation in 1798. Thanks pivnizub for the sample.

Bottle: light amber to dark golden coloured; fruity, spicy notes in the aroma, some traces of caramel, floral hops in the background; fruity (peaches?), sweetish beginning; light malty body, moderate, but distinctive bitter-sweet aftertaste, longer lasting; not bad, but the aroma promises more than the taste can prove.......

(bottle) Pale yellow body with a medium foamy white head. Dusty malty nose with herbal hops. Initially malty with hints of nuts and a fruity note and a dry quite bitter and hoppy finish for the style.

On draught: Pale yellow, medium sized, firm white head; initial floral, grassy hoppiness in the aroma, but also traces of malt; the malty taste dominates, a bit fuller bodied as other examples of this style; becomes fruitier and a bit sourish towards the end, slightly bitterness in the aftertaste. O.K.
