Well I hadn’t realized the Barbados version was a tick but here we are. I find myself having an overnight transit in Barbados and hanging out in the Oistins fish fry fun so why not? Too full for another Banks after a good feast anyway! Drinking it directly from the bottle as is the done thing around here. It’s dark chocolate, roast, licorice and caramel in the aroma. Moderate sweet and above moderate bitter. Decent.

From bottle at some beach bar just outside of St John’s, Antigua. It’s pretty rubbish. A grainy corny mess. The view’s bloody lovely though.

18/12/2025. Bottle from Ocean Convenience Store, Bridgetown Cruise Terminal. Enjoyed back on the boat. Very nice pour. Aroma is roasted malt, dark chocolate, ashy, caramel, condensed milk. Started with some fairly heavy roasted bitterness, which mellowed somewhat as sweetness came through. Good body, smooth, average to soft carbonation. Good one, pretty well balanced after that initial bitterness. Enjoyable.

18/12/2025. Can from Ocean Convenience Store, Bridgetown Cruise Terminal. Enjoyed back on the boat. Looks and aroma are okay. But it’s a very sweet and sugary shandy. Hard to enjoy even when cold in the hot Barbados sun.

11/12/2025. Bottle at Carlisle Brewing Inc, Bridgetown, Barbados. Decent pour. Sweet and malty, chocolate malt. Sweet taste. Watery. A bit fizzy. Not a great example of the style. Nice bottle though.

7/12/2025. Bottle bought yesterday at The City Store, St. John’s, Antigua. Enjoyed on our cruise ship balcony docked in Sint Maarten. A largely forgettable, sweet, grainy, corny lager. But the experience was great!

Bottle and tap. Main beer on Barbados. They are every where. Not very good though. Weak and watery.
