Keg at Lovibonds. It pours very dark brown with a small beige head. The nose is toasted coconut, vanilla, oak, cocoa, bourbon, red grape and mellow roast. The taste is tangy fruit, berry, jam, light roast, toast, berry yoghurt, wood, earth, ash and light alcohol warmth with a dry finish. Med-full body and moderate carbonation. Barrel-aging has definitely tanged this up, but its still pretty tasty.

Tap at the brewery. It pours hazy golden with medium white head. The nose is dough, hay, floral and grass. The taste is crisp, dough, bitter grass, spice, earth and cooked apple, with a dry, lightly bitter finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Very refreshing. I am not a lager boy, but this is top stuff.

Keg at Andrew Usher’s. Golden body with a light haze. Thin white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of orange, green hops, grapefruit, grass and pine. Flavour of orange, grass, toffee and bitter hops. Medium body with a syrupy, sticky texture. Light fizz. A solid IPA.

Bottle at Craft Beer Clerkenwell big thanks to whoever shared this my notes fail, 09/03/13. Lightly hazed pale blonde with a thin white head. Nose is woody, sour fruits, soured white grapes, light spice, touch of funk. Taste comprises lemon, wood, spice, soured grapes, white wine thats lingered a day or two too long in the fridge. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry in the finish. Impressive stuff - will seek this out again!

Bottle shared at CBC - Clerkenwell, London. Pours clear yellow with a fine, white foam head. Fairly funky aroma, dank dough, ripe lemon. Light to medium sweet flavor, robust tangy lemon and other fruits, good funk. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Very clean finish, light bitterness, white grapes, some mellow lemons, faint sweaty funk. Very nice beer, highly drinkable stuff.

On tap at the brewery. A dark, glossy, magohany pour with a tight off-white head; the aroma is vinous with a trace of chocolate; the taste is similar - rich fruit cake and a dash of drinking chocolate; then a long piney bitterness. A satisfying and well made beer that hides its alcohol well.

Aroma: Rasin, plum, burnt toast, bitter dark chocolate and vanilla.
Appearance: Black body with a thick tan head. Excellent lacing.
Taste: Powerful flavours - rich stone fruits, dark chocolate and a strong, ’burnt’ bitterness. No hint of its 6.9% ABV. Lovely.
Palate: Medium to full body with a sticky, syrup-like texture. Soft carbonation.
Overall: A tasty Black IPA - very hoppy and flavoursome. Distinct burnt characteristics.

On tap at BrewDog Camden. Hazy gold lasting white head. Very hoppy lager. Wow hops jump straight out at you. To have really good balance maybe a little less hop otherwise excellent.
