Clear amber beer. Low carbonation. Soft palate. Sweet sweet malt with a little caramel. Some repressed sweet fruits. Just a very sweet and simple beer. Dessert beer? Drinkable!

Dark brown color; medium sized beige compact head; although not the most difficult to remove, I find the wax on the cap annoying. No information on the whiskey type, but it really has an aroma of Bourbon; hence vanilla, and some roasted malts, nuts. The mouthfeel is weaker than the gravity would suggest, a bit dry, with a fairly pleasant flavor of dry dark caramel and dry chocolate, and a vanilla/Bourbon vein; ordinary bitterness. The final is rather short
This cask doesn’t add much to this kind of beer, maybe it would be more suitable for a bigger and sweeter beer; it’s nevertheless appreciated.

On tap at the brewery, Henley-on-Thames, Oxon 20.04.12 Looks pretty black in colour with light beige head. Not so bitter from the outset, though the bitterness does tend to open up and cut through some dark roastiness and molasses actually I get quit a blast of caramel initially but the bitterness swiftly reigns this in. Soft in the mouth, some burnt flavours occasionally pop up. Another beer that I’m really enjoying from Lovibonds. A7 A5 T8 P4 Ov15 3.9

On tap at the brewery, Henley-on-Thames, Oxon 20.04.12 Pours mid gold with a white head. Nose is quite gentle, not clinical or hard with no corn or metallic edge that I could discern. these aromas I often get with many lagers, the longer lagering/ageing process has left this softer and a bit more refined. Initially there is a flush of sweet soft malts but this then opens open to reveal a harder more lager like minerally bitterness. I was driving and had already ordered a dirty 69 so could only have a small sample, however it was very good. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Bottle @ Red Squirrel 270312
Dark orange amber, very hazy, thin white head, bit of lacing
Aroma of caramel malts, grassy hops. golden sugars, bit of nutty butterscotch, bitter sweet nose
Taste of caramel malts, some light toffee, grassy hops, bit nutty, sweet golden syrup, bit of butterscotch candy
Palate - quite dry, quite viscous texture, citrus tangy. Finish as main flavour, bitter slightly tangy, some scorched butterscotch.
Overall - It’s quite a good IPA but I’m not sure about that bit of butterscotch in there

Bottled. A deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of wood, brettanomyces, caramel, and a bit of whiskey. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, wood, whiskey, and caramel, as well as a bit of brettanomyces, leading to a lightly tart finish.
