Bottled (from Utobeer, London). Very deep ambery brown colour, close to black, with a big foamy beige head. Aroma is nutty, roasted malts, some quite ashy notes as well as some mild earth. Flavour is ashes, some roasted malts, mild nuttyness as well some slight dark fruits. Rather pleasant but on the border to too much ashes and roast.

Tap @ The Rake, London. During RBESG 11. Pours cloudy golden with a small white head and lacings. Peach, fruit, yeast and rubber. Smooth. A bit of a homebrew feel.

Bottled@The Chriso Pre-GBBF Shindig 2011 "Donkey Dork Lord Edition". Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, wood, citrus, earth and some mild malts. Flavour is fruity, wooden, earthy, grassy and quite bitter with some slight malts to balance it up a bit. Not very inspiring.

Bottle at Chris O’s pre GBBF shindig, 2011. Cloudy orange pour with a white head. Crisp citrus nose. Lemon rind and tangerine flavours. Fruit burst on the palate. Very nice indeed.

Bottle purchased directly from the brewery and shared with Peter Fowler & others at The Shoulder of Mutton, Wantage, Oxon 29.07.11 I also had this on tap at the Brewery Tap, Henley on Thames, Oxon June 2011 Pours dark brown with off white head, looks good. Really creamy from the off, loads of vanilla and I can’t help thinking of custard such is the creaminess that I’m getting. It’s nice, in fact really nice but possibly a bit too rich and smooth. The whisky flavours are there and in fact aren’t overdone, they have become very well integrated. Nice chocolate flavours throughout, it’s a good beer, not overdone, not exceptional just a very good drop. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.7
