Michael was fiercely loyal to his staff and worked tirelessly at building his business until his tragic death in 2005 in a helicopter accident. Here the great tradition of independent New Zealand brewing continues using natural ingredients and skilled brew masters.

500ml bottle, at 5.5% and sadly without a moose on the bottle any more. Dark pour with a nice brown head. Chocolate, sherry, vanilla, sugar, bitter roast. Slightly over carbonated. The sweetness comes first and then the bitterness and then a slightly metallic over sweet finish. Not quite right.

500ml bottle. Pours dark and translucent. A bit of coffee in there, plenty of roast. Not all that much flavour, and the oatmeal should make it much smoother than it is, but it’s still not a bad coffee stout.
