Very pale with a slight haze. Fruity, vinous and grapey. Big sugars tho. Dessert wine...so why not give it some botrytis and go all the way on it?

Hazy pink. Thin head. Has light hibiscus nose. Has a light hibiscus character, kind of yeasty, low bitterness. Actually doesn’t compel.

On tap at St Augustine's, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast upfront, followed by floral hops, and cereal malt sweetness. Flavour is well-balanced between the Nelson hops that given off a lovely citrusy, floral and almost vinous hop quality, along with Belgian yeast, fruity esters and light-moderate sweetness. Not an authentic saison really, due to the sweetness, but this is certainly nicely made.

On tap at St Augustine's, pours a cloudy ruby red with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of hibiscus upfront, followed by raspberries and light Belgian yeast. Flavour is big on the hibiscus upfront, followed by raspberries, Belgian yeast and lemongrass. Unusual blend of flavours that works pretty well. Solid.

On tap at St Augustine's, pours a hazy copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of candied sugar and Belgian yeast, smelling anything but authentic. Flavour is cloyingly sweet, with Belgian yeast and candied sugar dominating. Inauthentic, too sweet and just not what I want in a tripel. Meh.

On tap at St Augustine's, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out floral dry hopping upfront, with biscuity malt and some noticeable hoppy astringency. Flavour brings out a nice funky quality to it, with lovely citrus dry hopping upfront, a big lacto punch and dry biscuity malt. Tastes better than it smells. Nicely done.

On tap at Angel's Trumpet Ale House, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out some rustic farmhouse notes, citrus and biscuity malt. Flavour is complex, with lots of rustic farmhouse notes, citrus and Belgian yeast. Not a totally authentic saison, but better than most, that's for sure. Complex and well-constructed. Excellent.

Draft - Drak malts and light dark fruit. Cloudy dark copper with a small white head. Dark fruit and raisin with a long finish. Not bad, but nothing on the Begians.

On tap at St. Augustines on Rare Beer Tap Takeover. Aroma is dark fruits, slighlty bready, some alcohol notes. Same taste. Surpisingly quite pleasant American version of Quad, Belgian ones are better though, of course :-)
