In a basement in an Amsterdam townhouse: Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is grassy hops, with a tiny bit of malt. The beer is far from what you would call delicious, but it is a simple easy-drinking pilsener. Weak malts + nondescript hops + cheap price = europils.

Standaard pilserner, smaakt redelijk hoppig. Standaard doordrink bier, niet echt top maar zeker niet slecht. Goed bier voor een gezellige avond.

Tap at O’Reilly’s, Amsterdam. Poured a clear light straw with a frothy white head and lots of clingy lace. The aroma is weak malt. The flavour is light bitter with a malt hop bitter palate and a rather unpleasant hoppy finish. Light bodied with average carbonation. I’ll say a prayer for this beer when I go to bed this evening!

Old bottle [thanks to Joes] @ home. Clear amber color, no head. Weird, a bit chemical aroma with a slight chocolate touch. Taste malts and chocolate somehow. Weird. Average body and carbonation. Probably not as it was when fresh.

Opaque dark brown, foamy tan head, vanishes quickly, some lacing. Aroma roasted, hint of dark fruits, chocolate. Flavour heavy sweet, sugary, roasty undertones. Light body, watery texture, flat carbonation. Sweet finish, hint of bitterness.

It’s hard to taste difference between Dommelsch and water. This beer is too sweet, too thin and not even worthy of the time you spend drinking it.
