Draft. Less than a strong hop presence one expects from an IPA. Cloudy, amber pour with average, frothy head. Light malt aroma — bread and molasses. Just a hint of resiny hop and citrus. More sweet than bitter in flavor. Average carbonation and medium to full body. Sweet malts dominate this IPA, bringing it down a few notches for me.

Clear coloured amber body with a nice tan head and tons of small bubbles that rise from the bottom & sides of the glass. Aroma of metal, blood, fresh hops, caramel malt and alcohol. Full-bodied; Strong hoppy flavour with metal and alcohol very noticeable. Aftertaste shows a lot of hop bitterness with tons of potency. More like a normal IPA, but this one shows its pungency throughout. Overall, a good beer - not a true, full out double ipa, but pretty close. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased at Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 19-May-2007 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

A dark amber ale with a thin lacing white head. A light floral hops in aroma, pleasant, but not imperial. In mouth, a rather light I2PA with resinous hops, grapefruits, a bit thin and disappointing, considering the expectations from this brewery. Bottle tasted in the worst snow squall from lake effect, in a motel room in Watertown, NY. Feb.5 2007. Bought at Party Source, 6.99$.

Sample at Firewaters in Atlantic City. This beer is a murky yellow/gold color with a medium thin and fizzy white head. The head burns away steadily and there are sheets of lacing. Wheaty aroma that has notes of banana and spice. Medium, smooth body with wheat, fruit and spice flavors. The finish is on the dry side and is bitter at first with a clove aftertaste. Above average all around.

Tap at Independence Brewery. Grass, molasses and malt aroma. Brown with moderate head. Grass/hay malt flavor - light. Would like this better with a stronger malt flavor.

Bottle. Thanks to Jason (Kramer17801) for this bottle. Pours a hazy pale yellow color with a large white head. Fruity slightly malty yeasty, spicy aroma. Sweet malty slightly spicy flavor with some yeasty hints and hints of citrus. Malty finish with a spicy aftertaste.

Can courtesy of Hogtownharry: Poured a hazy deep yellow color pils with a nice white foamy head with average retention. Aroma of dry malt with some crisp german hops. Taste is also dominated by some dry malt and a dry crisp hoppy finish. Body is above average with some low filtration and lees at the bottom. While this is a good pils I thought it miss some of the floral aspect that I usually like in the style.

I do love these cans...
Very clear coloured golden body with a thinnish white head. Aroma of nice hops, fresh malt and a very strong citrus scent. Light-bodied; Very perfect combination of hops and malt along with some sweet flavours tapped with a good alcoholic kick. Aftertaste shows a plentiful amount of fresh and high a.a. hops...very nice! Overall, definitely one to have again, especially in summer, and especially because of the can! I sampled this twelve ounce CAN purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 24-March-2007.

On tap at the Bocktown in Robinson shopping complex. This stuff pours extremely dark, perhaps opaque black; the color of used shovelhead oil. The head is big and creamy, can’t wait for this to settle down. It presents a show as it settles, rolling foam and all. There are mostly creamy rising bubbles with a couple of medium large ones on top center. The head is so smooth looking, I want to rub it between my thumb and forefinger. Has a medium-strong stout aroma; roasty and sweet. The non fading head starts to turn into something like icing. The primordial taste is imperial stout but it becomes pleasingly thinned after a few sips. Compared to other dry stouts, which I find to be smaller cousins of imperial stouts, this has a little better flavor. Comes on like an imp, fades to a dry. To say this is lacing on the side of the glass is not accurate, it has a coating with no peek a-boo holes, it is a fine creamy coating around the whole inside. Burned wood roasted malt flavors. Good taste and a nice interesting dark beer. The finish is medium bitter linger and not extremely offensive after you get used to it. Medicinal bitter qualities are slightly above medium. I am left wishing this had more carbonation but I think the fizz is about right for this style. Overall - decent brew. As good as Hereford & Hops Cashel Bay Stout.
