On tap @ Crowbar. A deep dark black beer and the head is quickly gone. It had a lovely color when it stuck around though, deep dark brown in color. On the nose it's quite lovely to be honest. Really packed with dark, sweet flavors. Some boozy thing also, lots of dark Belgian chocolate, a ton of liquefied licorice, and even a little bit of vanilla! Oh yeah, it's a flavor bomb. Of dimensions may I add. As dark roasted as they come with a ton of dry 80%cocoa powder. Dammit. It's like chewing on a chocolate bar that has been added something slightly acidic and vanillaish. The licorice is just extreme to the max. Warming dark aftertaste that's refusing to let go. A thick and chewy mouthfeel with a prickling carbonation level. Lovely stuff 25.05.2013

24.05.2013, tap @ Crowbar:
Nice brown creamy head. Aroma is rich, lots of salty licorice, caramel, coffee, grass, dark sugar. Taste is dry, strong rawlicorice, grass, cocoa, coffee, dark berries. Longlasting bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Damn good heavy shit, but a small taster is more than enough.

On tap @ Olympen. This one has a really big heavy fluffy and just generally speaking a really nice top! Looks like a beer from a comic book. The beer itself is light cloudy and deep bronze-orange in color. The aroma has tones of burned rye bread, wort, brett, yeast, sour apricots and in general not very pale ale like. The carbonation level is average and the mouthfeel is light oily. Not to pale ale like in the taste either. Kinda on the sweet side, well malty, a soft acidity lurking in the background, caramel and a slight dry finish. Not mouthdrying, just dry. Easy to drink, easy to like I guess. 02.03.2013

Pretty damn good, actually. Pours black with mocha head and some lacing. Smells of heavy roast malt - very robust aromas of coffee as well. The anise flavours are light here but then again the last beer I had was basically a twizzler bomb. Palate finishes on the light side with a little bitterness. Soft carbonation. Creamy texture. Tall can from Strathcona Liquor in Victoria.

Craft Islington. Almost clear amber beer, little white head. Palate is smooth but with a crispy trailing edge. A little creamy malt. Light marmalade hops and a whisper of red berry fruits. Slightly crispy finish. Okay.

Pours ok - brown with decent head and lacing, but smells like tin initially. Tastes with light hops but even that’s a stretch. Leave is sour with little bitterness. Lively carbonation. Another average brown ale. Tall can from the Strath in Victoria.
