On tap at J. Wakefield, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has grassy dry hopping upfront and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is crisp, with biscuity malt, subtle dry-hopping, and straw. Doesn't seem like the freshest but it's alright.

Draft at Snallygaster 2024. Poured a slightly hazy red color with a pink head. Aroma was big black cherries, cherry skin, cherry juice. Flavor was big cherry, black cherry cola. Tart black cherry, with a little bit of sweet acid.

Pours black, no head. Scent is intense, typical JWB chocolatyness. cocoa essence. Taste is super smooth, intense barrel, bourbon greatness. Vanilla, all super well blended. Another super good Wakefield. Great barrel expression, perhaps a bit boozy at the finish.

Pours black, no head. Scent is mild chocolate, coconut isn't outspoken but works well and blends in with the basebeer. Taste is smooth, boubon sweetness. Tad spicy from the rye, less boozy than V1. Works way better in the balance. Milder on the booze as well. Ends medium sweet (only) , not as burning. Way prefer this version, to my surprise actually

Pours black, no head. Scent is sweet, intense, cocoa, roasted malts (not at all ashy) bit perfumy in a way. Dark (dried) fruits. Taste is sweet, roasty, soy, syrupy chocolatyness. Bit boozy, fairly loud barrel. Not as smooth as I tend to expect from wakefield. Very boozy finish.

Pours black, no head. Scent is intense, coffee, green pepper. Roasty. Taste is intense, green bell pepper, spicy, sweet imperial stout backbone - very chocolaty. But the start ( green pepper ) is not to my preference.

Pours black, no head. Scent is intense , chocolate, juicy. Taste is full, roasty, intense, chocolate, milkchocolate, mild booze, barrel and bourbon are clear. Some vanilla like smoothness. Lovely imperial stout, wakefield style. Perhaps not the most specific one, but lovely nevertheless.

16 oz. bottle, pours jet black with some floaties and a small brown head. Nose has lots of toasted coconut, lots of nuttiness, and gentle bourbon. Flavour is ridiculously rich, with lots of toasted coconut, toasts nuts, vanilla, and plenty of bourbon. Not sure how old this is, but age has definitely had an effect. Lots of coconut and nuttiness, with some more acidity than you'd expect for the style. The barrels take more of a back seat. It's excellent for sure but in different ways than expected.
LCI. Sweet milk chocolate, pastry sugar nose, smooth, elegant. Booze develops as it opens, some almonds, marzipan, caramel notes lots of smooth chocolate . Thanks Andy
