I actually like this one a little more than some others. A little more body and spice. Gilden im zims Köln

Seems almost illegal drinking a Kolsch outside of Koln! Clear and golden with a frothy/bubbly white head and a semi-sweet bready, fruity aroma. Fresh and clean, sweeter than the aroma suggests, light sugary biscuit malt prevails with some subtle grasys notes pulling through into the finish

On tap at Gilden im Zims, pours a clear piss yellow with a small white head. Aroma is gentle, with some graininess and straw. Flavour is fairly neutral and light, with gentle straw and subdued grass. Finishes crisp, crackery and dry, with very gentle bitterness. Pleasant enough — about standard for the style in the city centre.

On tap at Brauhaus Sion, pours a clear piss yellow with a large white head. Aroma is crisp, with straw and some metallic notes. Flavour is clean and crisp, with very light grassiness. Nothing wrong with it but not one of the better kolschs.

Bottle at local restaurant in Gengelt, Germany. Crystal clear golden color, medium sized white head. Aroma and flavor are malts, bitterness, soft hayish grainy notes. Not bad.

330 ml bottle. Clear golden, foamy head. Pear, malt, grain, rye bread. Dry bitterness, malty sweetness. Medium to light bodied, oily watery texture, soft to lively carbonated, dry grainy malty finish. Alright Kölsch.
