Clear dark brown, small beige head. Aroma of well, yes, coffee. Also some nice nutty, caramel malts. Flavour is very mich all coffee, but unlike a stout, there is no roasty, just a sweet nuttiness, with toffee notes. Nice stuff.

On Tap at Volo.
Upfront grassy hops, and some light citrus. Malts are also upfront, and are mainly toasty cereals. Good carbonation, mouth feel is good. Finish is a medium bitterness, with some nice citrus hops in the end. touches of pine in the aftertaste.

600ml bottle.
Hazy copper pour, small lightly beige head. A nice caramel malt aroma, quite malt forward, reminds me alot of a nice german bock, with some ample spicing. Im getting notes of ginger, citrus peel, cardamon, and turkish delight. Flavor is again quite malt forward and the spices die off leaving a pleasant bready malt. Finish is very lightly bitter, with a subtle herbacious, and medicinal note. Some light grasses, and herbs linger......an interesting take on a bock. I would honestly like to try the base bock without the spices.

600ml bottle from the LCBO. Looks like a kristalwizen with a clear golden pour, and a small white head. Nice banana, yeasty, clove aroma, wrapped in some great smoked malts. The smoking is subtle, but solid, and upfront without being over powering.A perfect meld of both styles. They both stand out up front without crowding each other. The smoked malts really taste like beechwood smoked malts your would get in an Aecht Schlenkerla. Soft banana, clove finish with a good dose of smoke. great stuff!

600ml bottle from the LCBO. Nice spicy, hoppy, yeast nose. Good grassy notes with some subtle spicing from the rye. There is a good amount of cereal malts, some nice grain aromas. Medium bitter finish with more subtle spice, and some great grassy hops. The bitterness really leans towards american hopping, but it really goes well with the rye. nice stuff.

Bottle from the LCBO. Black pour, creamy, thick, beige head. Quite a bit of hops in the nose, and quite a bit of fresh cereals, and lots of roast. Reminds me of a black ipa honestly. Quite bitter, and very very roasty. Some light smoke, burnt malts, ash, and light yeasty notes. Interesting beer.

From the booth at le mondiale 2011. Amber pour with a light brown head. Aroma of cold coffee right off the bat. This is all coffee. Cold coffee, esspresso, fresh ground coffee beans, mani couldnt get my nose out of this, the best coffee aromaive ever had the pleasure to smell in a beer. The flavor was well....more coffee! Imagine that! There were some nice bready malts though too. The fnish of this beer reminded me of a strong german bock, flavoured with coffee. Awesome stuff!

600ml bottle from the LCBO.
Darm amber pour, small white head. Aroma is filled with boozy, sherry, oaky malts that are woody and sticky. there is very little hops in the aroma, just tinges of grass and pine. the body is viscous, and sticky. The finish is quite bitter with a little bit of hops, and a big slam over the head with boozy, sticky, woody malts. I’m not sure this is an IPA. I also don’t understand the reason for oak ageing IPA’s.

dark pour with a fluffy brown head. Aroma of sweet milk chocolate, some tinges of coffee, and quite a bit of sweet malts.
The alcohol is present in the flavor, and its a bit hot. There cocoa fades, and the coffee takes over, this is not a belgian strong, more of a strong sweet stout.
