About
As the “Köstritzer Erbschenke” the Köstritzer black beer brewery is first mentioned in 1543, making it one of the oldest breweries in Germany. In 1948, the brewery became a "Volkseigener Betrieb" after the state of Thuringia had expropriated it. In 1991 the Köstritzer Schwarzbierbrauerei became part of the Bitburger Group and within a few years it has grown into one of the most modern and largest breweries in Thuringia.

Ambar anaranjada, de escasa espuma. Aroma malteado y cereal. Agradable.

Pours thick black with medium beige head that leaves some lacing. Smell of roasted malts and caramel. Medium to full body with average carbonation. Thick and smooth texture. Bittersweet taste with very pleasant aroma of roasted malts, caramel, toffee and dark fruits. Some slightly metallic notes towards the end spoil this one a bit, but overall it’s not that big of a deal. Not bad, would definitely drink this one again.

0,5 l company own bottle. Clear pale golden in the glass, foamy off white head, fast fading. Sweet grassy on the nose. Taste starts with malt and grain in the smooth version. Low bitterness, soft grainy finish, hints of citrus. Easydrinker. Boring.

Butelka 0.5l (01.11.2016). Piwo zmętnione o słomkowej barwie. Piana biała, obfita, dość drobna i trwała, ładnie zdobi ścianki szkła.

Butelka 0.5l (30.11.2016). Piwo praktycznie klarowne o bursztynowej barwie.
