Growler thanks to Mike! Pours a clear chestnut and a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of roasted malts with a bit of supporting dark chocolate. Flavor starts with dark grains and grows to have roasted malts as well as a bit of bitter chocolate in the finish.

Bottled: Wasn’t a fan of this one at all. Strangely light when I was expecting something much more full-bodied for the strength, and I felt the strong taste hits your mouth but then seemed to be gone quite quickly.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a dark brownish-black color with a medium khaki head that dissipates steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and hops. Medium body with flavors of roasty malt and piney hops that seem to cancel each other out more-so than complement each other. The finish is roasty at first and leaves a slightly resiny hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a clear pale golden color with a thin and fizzy white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of grainy malt and hops. Light and clean body with flavors of grassy hops and sweet malt, plus a bit of fruit. The finish is mildly hoppy with a lingering light bitterness. Decent introductory beer overall.

Krueger’s Alt, on tap at ROB. Brown body with a thin buff head. Earthy, caramely nose. Sweet body, toasty and leafy, with heavy emphasis on brown sugar notes. Not enough earthiness or bitterness to pierce the sugars.

On tap at ROB. Slightly hazy orange body, medium off-white head. Sharp citrusy, piney aroma. Citrusy (orange) body finishes bitter with pine notes. Modest toasty backbone. Fair IPA.
