Small white head over (cold) hazed golden beer. Pale malts, herb , peppery, spicy. Spicy, herbal. Sparkling Helles; bitterish and maltsweet at the same time in almost perfect balance. Again peppery. Light body but slick, good carbonation. You'll have to search far and wide to find such a good Helles in Germany! There's just that name... We knew already about papa no parlo americano, this then might be petrol German? Actually, it does exist in... Middledutch.

Can from Pretesto, Bologna. Hazy yellow, small, frothy, white head. Aroma of yellow apple (weird), pineapple, mandarin, papaya, lime, dough, pine resin, cereal, hard peach. Taste has sweet apple, pineapple & young peach, sourish zesty accent, going over bittersweet citrus rind, grapefruit & spicy yeast in a bready, almost 'cereally' body. Low floral, earthy hoppy finish, bitter citrus peel, bread & cereal returning. Crisp & zesty. Medium body, slick-oily texture, average carbonation. Not bad, but for a DIPA it leans too much on 'basic' maltiness and too little on juicy hoppiness.

Can from Pretesto, Bologna. Clear yellow, quickly thinning, white head. Aroma of gooseberry, raspberry, unripe strawberry, young peach, sour cream. Taste has sour gooseberry, kiwi, blueberry, sweetish young strawberry, a bit lemony in a creamy-lactic body. Tart, fruity, wheaty finish, lots of sour berries lingering. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Good, but lacks some depth.

Can from Pretesto, Bologna. Strawberry version. Hazy orange, small, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of peach, unripe strawberry, pink grapefruit, papaya, mandarin zest, melon. Taste has sweet peach pulp, melon & strawberry, sour citrus zest, bitter fruit rinds with a spicy accent on a bready malty base. Dryish, floral hoppy finish, bit earthy-grapefruity, more unripe strawberry dominated by a soft hop burn. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Flavoured Ale indeed, but perhaps I was expecting something more 'pulpy', especially on the palate.
