Bottle. Earthy roasty chocolate aroma. Black brown with a large tan head, nice lacing. Roasty malt, chocolate, earthy/ashy flavor. Medium body, moderate carbonation.

Cask at GBBF 2012, London. Pours rich brown with a bubbly, beige head. Smells like s’mores, with dubtle dark fruit notes as well. Medium to big sweet flavor, some poo, grapes, grapefruit and ripe melon, along with roasty malts. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sticky sweet on the finish, somewhat resinous, with burnt pine, dark sugars, marshmallows and tar. Very dynamic stuff.

Really cool offering from Summit. 12oz bottle. Copper-ruby orange with a big frothy head. Sort of like a really dry, hoppy version of Anchor Steam. Quite excellent, fresh, vibrant fruity esters, but all well balanced and restrained too. The hops are one dimensional, but very present and fascinating from a historical perspective. Somewhere between medium and full bodied, with a birchy, woody faintness. I sort of love this beer for what is and represents...but it is a solid beer all around.

Pour is a murky brown with a large white head. Aroma is earthy and peat malt with a decent floral hop. Flavor is about the same but the hops are even more pronounced. It has a very heavy mouthfeel with maybe some spicy rye malts appearing after the swallow. Deffinatly something different.

Bottle. Pour is a slightly hazy orange with a small diminishing white head with nice lacing. Aroma is clearly of citrus hops. Flavor is crisp, mineral water, fresh hops, and grapefruit citrus fruit. Theres some malt in there to try to balance things out some, but it doesnt mask the crisp hop profile. Light bodied and quite effervescent. Nice, dry & bitter finish. I REALLY enjoyed these.

Bottle. Lots of grain in the aroma and the flavor. Some lightly bitter hops, with a very earthy quality. Bitter grain in the flavor. Hazy copper color. Very much like an American pale ale.

Tap. Wow, what a welcome improvement on their basic IPA! Pours clear amber with a medium white head that slowly dissipates with great lacing. Aroma is passionfruit and grapefruit, along with a bit of resin. Flavor is about the same, some sweetness balancing light bitterness into the finish. Body is on the light side, but otherwise an excellent beer.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with an orange tint. Large tan creamy head, mostly lasting and leaving great lacing. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt, and a bit of wet hay. Flavor is the same, medium sweet, nice coffee bitterness lingering through the finish. Full bodied for a porter. An old favorite of mine that i am pleasantly surprised that i still enjoy.
