Description
Fate brought us together at Hawkshead Brewery and in a short time it became clear we shared a passion for great beer and many ideals. After being made redundant at the beginning of lockdown restrictions in March 2020. Matt, Michelle, Steve & Paul reunited as Lakes Brew Co. Bringing together the shared ambition to be one of Cumbria’s progressive, sociably innovative breweries. With a strong ethos of support and collaboration, through the beers we produce and the team we surround ourselves with – engrained in our locality.

Adversity lit a flame within us to create something for ourselves, take control of our own futures and build a brewery that we are happy to be involved in. The end of July 2022 marks the first year of brewing for us. We have been so lucky to be able to carry on doing what we are passionate about, not only brewing but in the area that feeds us inspiration on a daily basis. Creating innovative & progressive craft beers in the Lake District and proud to be an inclusive, independent, woman co-owned business where everyone is welcome.

Can. Hazy orange gold beer, decent bubbly pale cream colour head. Airy palate, semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light pale malts but delivering a good creamy sweetness. Soft pine into a decent smorgasbord of tropical fruits, a little stone fruits and an even littler citrus. Guava rises above. Crisp cooling pine throughout. Light crisp finish brings a mild hop spice. Enigmatic Eggers does it again.
