Dorst are modern craft brewers that guest brew or small scale contract brew in Sofia, Bulgaria. At the moment we distribute our beers in kegs and 330ml bottles. Dorst are two good friends that have met in Oxford, United Kingdom. One from Bulgaria and the other from the Netherlands. Both of them beer enthusiasts, one of them a home brewer. Because we contract brew at small scale we can be nimble. Our goal is to brew seasonal beers with a twist. Dorst is a Dutch word. This is what the most famous Dutch dictionary says it means: dorst (de; m) behoefte aan drinken (The need to drink) hevig verlangen (intense longing) Our goal is to make beers we love and want to drink ourselves. It’s our creative outlet and a passion project. We believe in our product and we try to be transparent about what we are and what we are not. We are also very social so come say hi to us on social media.

Can at the flat in Sofia - picked up from Nosferatu. Pours mostly clear yellow-gold with a creamy, white topping. Light to medium sweet flavour with notes of pale biscuits, semi-ripe lemon, citrus in general, white bread. Light bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, more subdued citrus, bready pale malts, mild bitterness. Not really an NEIPA but that’s actually fine with me. Very drinkable.

Bottle at the flat in Sofia - picked up from Nosferatu. Pours deep brown with a foamy, tan head. Light to medium sweet flavour with notes of well toasted malts, milk chocolate, a little ash and earth. Light bodied with average carbonation. A very subtle tangy note in the finish, like raisins, more subdued cocoa, light ashy roast, earthy hops. Decent enough.

Bottle at the rental flat in Sofia - picked up from Nosferatu. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white topping. Medium sweet flavour, nice semi-ripe citrus fruits, light piney bitterness. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Well balanced finish, mild piney resin, rindy citrus, supportive pale malts. Very nice overall.

Bottle at the rental in Sofia - picked up from Nosferatu. Pours clear honey-gold, effervescent, with a big, creamy white head. Light sweet flavour with pleasant, lightly ripened citrus fruits, orange and tangerine, mellow piney bitterness, clean pale malts. Light bodied with active, massaging carbonation. Pretty clean to finish. Easily drank.

20/8/2022. Bottle shared at High Five Craft Beer Bar & Shop, Sofia. Pours clear golden with a large frothy white head. Aroma of grass, grain, bread, straw. Quite sweet, light bitterness. Light body, quite carbonated. Not particularly enjoyable.

Bottle @ High Five, Sofia. Clear yellow with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, grainy, bready and light hoppy - straw. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet and light bitter finish. 200822

Bottle @ High Five, Sofia. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are grass, malt, hops, straw and has a sweet malty finish.
