Description
Shock Top is a traditional Belgian-Style wheat ale. It was originally created in 2006 as a seasonal brew under the name Spring Heat Spiced Wheat. After collecting gold in ’06 and bronze in ’07 in the Belgian White category at the North American Beer Awards, we decided to brew year-round and switch the name to Shock Top. We couldn’t be happier with our decision. And the best decision you can make is to try some Shock Top for yourself.

Stovepipe can for 3$ at the large bird of prey soon to be krogers. Nose is totally grapefruit juice. Look is slight orange tint on pale with a modest haze. Oh, first taste is a boozy impact, whew. Yes a warming sensation follows down the gullet. Very rude and nasty. You can tell this has one thing in mind; get you buzzy toasted before the end of the can. It even says so in the description! Lets get passed out wasted hammered blasted. Then maybe even plastered, oblivious and out cold. There, you have it. Yes quite a shock to my top. Blah. Not even enough carbonation to carry me over the terrible taste. There, you have it.

Keg at Brewdog Waterloo. Clear gold. Thinnest foamy white head. Thought it may have not been the Wit before I went in. Aroma has herbs and citrus over light nalts. Flavourwise a herbal bitterness over sweeter citrus. Undelivered dry malts. Light-medium bodied. Thin-slick. Soft-average carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Bland stuff.

Can from Brewdog, the Tilrays brand years. It pours golden - amber with a decent fluffy white head. The aroma is fragrant, spicy, herbal, stinky coriander, damp grass, chalky green banana, bitter -sweet citrus and slight sweatiness. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, bitter - sweet, tangy orange, tangerine, green chalky banana, herbal, coriander, warming spice, straw and wheat grain with a herbal finale. Average body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Not bad.

19.2oz can drunk after arriving home from waiting nearly forever for the parking lot to be released after Chesterfield 4th fireworks. Orange amber, moderate head. Mild nose, lightly citrus-ish flavor, i can barely notice any coriander. This is a very low budget Belgian Wit, I tell you. It's pleasant enough as long as you've not had (or are not expecting) a real, tasty Wit.

Cheap bottle, pour is almost clear pale with lots of visible carbonation streaming. Slight berry nose, smells a lot like your typical dull fruit beer. Yes, first taste is just a tad tart. Good co2 level. Yes, some berry in there too. Perhaps a little more civilized than yer typical wheat ale fruit beer. Not much of that rude wheat ale bitterness, thankfully. Overall this beer is not bad, shock tops are generally easy for a lager lover to enjoy, and this is.

Bottle. Taste like pumpkin pie in a bottle. Sweeter than most pumpkin beers but still it’s good. Aroma is lots of spice with a tad of grain and hops. Orange copper color.
