Description
Shock Top is a traditional Belgian-Style wheat ale. It was originally created in 2006 as a seasonal brew under the name Spring Heat Spiced Wheat. After collecting gold in ’06 and bronze in ’07 in the Belgian White category at the North American Beer Awards, we decided to brew year-round and switch the name to Shock Top. We couldn’t be happier with our decision. And the best decision you can make is to try some Shock Top for yourself.

12 ounce bottle, Honey gold pour. Frothy white head. Fragrant wheat malt nose is redolent of oranges. Sweet wheat and orange, as expected. Extremely light-bodied. Pales in comparison to the real Belgian Witbiers such as Hoegarden and St. Bernardus.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-apricot color with a large foamy off white head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was strong sweet caramel apple. The flavor was tart and tangy apple, faint caramel and a hint of yeast. Medium length finish of bubblegum, apple and yeast. Medium body

Giant can at Yankee Stadium. From can. Orange, synthetic orange, lemon, touch of spice, touch of dough. Medium body. Clean and citrusy. Not particularly in style but not offensive either.

12 ounce bottle from a Pick N Save, 3/5/19. Hazy orange, thin fizzy head, Aroma of grapefruit and orange juice, pale malt. Taste is juicy orange and wheat. Thin. It is what it is, and it's drinkable, but coming across more as orange than grapefruit.

Bottle at Kingside, LGA. Hazy orange colour, tiny white head. Sweetness, wheatyness, coriander in the nose. Light to medium-bodied. Sweet, fruity (peach, orange), spicey (coriander) flavour. Same time kind of sticky, not refreshing.

Bottle: Hazy, dark yellow with a small, off-white head. Coriander, ugli fruit scent. Taste is very sweet ugli fruit, wheat malt, orange malt. A little fruit rind bittering....a little soapiness. Not a bad flavour at all....but not very beery.
