Tap at the Boilermaker House, Melbourne. Poured a murky light orange with a thin broken head and some broken lace. The aroma is big tropical fruit which totally dominates. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter with a crisp, fresh, super fruity, floral hop bitter light spice palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Can from Brewcraft at home. Hazy bright golden yellow pour with minimal white head and some fine sediment. Aroma is bright lemon juice and citrus sourness. Taste is tart and lemony with some slight farm flavor too. Quite refreshing in a sour way. Bubbly palate and a lasting citrus sour bitterness. Seems like a lighter beer than it is - in a good way.

From a 330ml bottle on 23/4/2017. Pours a cloudy light amber with the barest of heads. There’s a touch of mild fruit on the nose. Flavour wise, there’s some caramel malt and citrus and tropical fruit, followed by some pretty big resiny hops. Quite bold and flavoursome, but there’s something missing from a balance perspective which prevents me from loving it. As a reference point, I thought the Fox Hat Red Pelt I had the other day more impressive and enjoyable.

375ml can from Beer Cartel, Sydney. Hazy orange golden colour, bubbly white foam head and aroma of tropical fruits and floral citrus. Taste is malt caramel, with passionfruit, citrus, grapefruit, pine and hoppy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.

Taster on tap at Basement Brewhouse Bankstown. Nose of fruit, earth(rocks?), funkiness and the distant dry horizon. Flat golden amber beer with thin film of suds on top. Thick oily texture, coats the mouth with piney minty goodness. Amazing. Fresh but strong. A (very) late night beer. Probably with good strong cheese.

Tap. Rosy amber small beige head that laces well. Faint aroma of nectarines, twigs light spices. Recognisably Bretty but not very funky. Comes through in the taste though - funky, zingy, slightly astringent with nectarine and pineapple. Alarmingly swiggable - no sign of the alcohol and it’s really refreshing. Some depth. Nice beer.
