Tap. Rosy amber small beige head that laces well. Faint aroma of nectarines, twigs light spices. Recognisably Bretty but not very funky. Comes through in the taste though - funky, zingy, slightly astringent with nectarine and pineapple. Alarmingly swiggable - no sign of the alcohol and it’s really refreshing. Some depth. Nice beer.

Tap. Thought this would be Hop Hog with a tweak to the hops. Not so. Hazed amber small cream head. Weak aroma, but there’s peach bubblegum, bitter oranges, pine, some bread. Fairly light bodied. Fruit and some crusty bread rapidly overtaken by strong bitterness. Not much sweetness or body and it roars right on through. A little resin at the end.

330ml bottle from Beer Cartel. Deep brown-orange amber course with a tan foam head leaving lacing and aroma of fruity citrus hops. Taste is malt caramel with tropical fruit and spicy citrus, orange, grapefruit & pine bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.

Another ripping beer from Feral, there are loads of fruit aromas, including grapefruit, orange, lychees and peach plus light toast and fresh gooey white bread. The hops and malt are in beautiful harmony in the tasting, with a little spearmint adding to the flavour. It covers your tongue and lingers long in the back of your throat. What a pleasure.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Stas. Hazy golden. Aroma of citric hops, slightly stale. Flavor is a bit sweetish with malt, and bitter citric hops, a bit stale. Medium-bodied. Decent, could be fresher.

From a 330ml bottle on 27/8/2016. Pours a clearish light golden with a small head. The nose is very citrussy, with some grassy and zesty notes. Take a sip an it’s pretty intense - lots of sweet and sour citrus (orange, lemon, lime), with plenty of spice and herbs. The hops are firm and very dry. The texture is slightly oily and the carbonation is average. Interesting and comes together pretty well.

Bottle, 10C. Hazy blond with a white head. Aroma of medicinal herbal lemon, oranges, dry citrus leaves, some crackery dough. Fairly light bodied with moderate carbonation. Fruity but dry all the way with a very dry and bitter finish. A great array of citrus flavours - zest, flowers and leaves of various fruit - with mostly complementary herb and spice notes (galangal, lemongrass, white pepper, coriander leaf, dill). It is as described but I found it overbearing (as Sorachi Ace often is) and I wanted something of this strength to be more inviting. I like that Feral are still a bit feral.
