500 ml bottle (as Double Bock) shared with my Son-in-Law on 15th Jan 2018 at his place in California while on holiday. Dark brown with a ruby hue when held to a strong back light, off-white topping reminiscent of a espresso crema. Demerara sugar sweet in both the nose and taste, malty molasses all the way. The alcohol level is also coming through and is too high for the depth of body feel. My sweet tooth really liked it and I do also like an alcoholic kick now and again, so this was fine to me.

0.5l bottle from alkomarket in moscow. pours a cloudy pale orange with a lot of sediment and a big steady head. aroma of coriander, soap, not so much banana or cloves. flavour of the same, sweetish, some pears and white bread. interesting.

0.5l bottle from alkomarket in moscow. pours a clear golden with a big frothy head. aroma of grass, slightly skunky/sulphuric noble hops, a hint of perfume and floral honey. flavour of grains, perfume, butterscotch. a bit too sweet for a pils imo, but ok.

500ml bottle (as Maibock) on 6th Jan 2018. Poured into a Lowenbrau (Munchen), stemmed tulip at my daughters in California. Deep golden body, clean and clear, full white crown on top. Malty molasses in both the nose and taste, some bread/biscuit like aromas and flavours tempered by a light hop bitterness. Decent.

Bottle at home. A rich pilsner that was very Czech in its character. There was sweet malt with balancing hops and it was pretty good.

Bottle at home from Laithwaite. That's a hell of a lot of banana! It was right there on first sip and dominated the whole flavour profile. It was drunk with some fruit bread and pate at the end of a heavy afternoon of beer, port and schnapps and really rejuvenated the taste buds with a sharp, almost sour, flavour. It was a perfect beer for that time, but too much to want to revisit.

Clear amber colour, small steady white head. Sweetish diacetylic nose. Light-boded. Diacetyl, metal and sweet malts in the flavour. Very Czechish but not very enjoyable.

On keg at Old No 7, Barnsley. Pours clear golden with a dissipating white head. Aroma of light malts, herbal, straw & grass. Taste is light sweet & grassy with metallic notes. Light bodied, moderate carb, dry grassy finish.
