500ml bottle (BB 28th Aug 2025), drank at home on 19th June 2025. Poured into a glass tankard it looked great, bright chestnut body, off-white crown on top. Malty aroma with a spicy twist, taste also malty with some dark fruit flavours coming through. Really enjoyed this one, last beer of the night.

More of a bitter than a brown ale

Bottle. Didn't feel like a bitter. Was much more interesting. Dark fruits, boozy but without big body. Interesting earthy taste, lightly spicy. --- Beer merged from original tick of Wilder Ness (3.9% Bitter) on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:02 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 8. Bottle at Cotteridge Wines V Ratebeer event; opaque black pour thin dark tan head, aroma has peaty whisky slightly medicinal, taste is much the same with some smoke and burned charcoal.

Cotts 2019. Boozy rich Christmas aroma. Darkest brown. Thin beige head. Medium-heavy bitter. Charcoal and some fruit. Medium bodied. On the thin side. Average carbonation. Long finish. I guess it's not aged particularly well - a tad bland.

Shared at the Cotteridge Convention 2019. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a round bubbly light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, red berry fruits, big peat. The flavour of moderate sweet with a roasty, oily, dry, oaky, light fruit, boozy palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

At Cotteridge Convention V 2019. Black beer lasting tan head. peat islay aroma. too much islay maybe. actually settles down and it's an ok dark chocolate islay whisky balance.
