Bret, our president and head brewer, fell in love with beer and the craft of brewing at the appropriate age of 21. After graduating from the University of Colorado with a degree in economics, he pursued a sensible job in the finance world. It didn’t take long for him to realize that being at a desk was not for him and he wanted to become a professional brewer. That passion led him and his family to California where he went back to school to earn a Professional Brewing Certificate at University of San Diego. He swore he would never go back to school, but beer will make you do some crazy things. From there, Bret worked as a professional brewer for several years before taking the leap to open his own brewery in Spokane.
Lumberbeard Brewing was founded in 2018 and we are so excited to have you along for this crazy journey. We are committed to making excellent beers and desire to create a community where everyone feels welcome, cared for, and can find a beer they love!

On tap at the Knitting Factory to see Melvins. Hazy golden pour with bone white foam. Aroma has notes of orange, peach. Taste has a mild to moderate pithy bitterness. Juicy hop flavors.

16 oz can picked up during Lager season at Hop and Hound. Aka baseball season. Aroma is a steady straw and apple like grain. Sharp grassy and straw like front, with some cool, low bitter hops to follow. Some cereal grains throughout as well. Flavorful lager compared to many. Refreshing for sure. Solid brew.

I've been avoiding tavour canned stouts for a bit but no regrets here! My first lumberbeard brewing too. Nice vanilla bean stacked bourbon boozy sweetness. Was a bit smokey upfront but after airing out and warming up it's all vanilla bourbon.

Enjoyed on tap at Hop and Hound. A mostly clean, shiny golden appearance, thin patchy head. Crisp, tasty brew here that would pair well with hot weather. Described perfectly by Stevoj. Biscuit, cracker like grains. Soft lemon touch. Crisp and refreshing. Named appropriately. Solid addition to the style.

Can from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a slight darkish tan head. Vanilla wafts from the pour. Aroma of vanilla, whiskey and pretty toasted malt. Pretty full bodied. Flavor starts with wheat/whiskey, shows lots of vanilla, gets some chocolate, and then pretty toasted/burnt malt - which may provide some bitter. This is not very sweet. It's really nice flavor. The label front indicates bourbon whiskey - the side label indicates wheat whiskey. I'm going with wheat on this.

16oz can pours out brown topped with a tan head. Nose is nice sweet chocolate roast and caramel toffee malts bourbon kick. Taste is more of the nice chocolate caramel malt kick and bourbon barrel.
