Draught @ Coin-Op, San Diego. Aroma has bready malt, hay and some bush leaves. Flavour has harsh malt and some wood. Finishes with menthol, bready malt, berries and leathery notes. Not my thing, too much berries here.

$8.50 22oz bomber pours with a slightly hazy copper body that supports a weak off white head. The mild aroma offers up tangerine, lime and some herbal like hop notes. The taste starts with a malty sweet citrus hoppiness that tries to be juicy but stays malty with modest levels of tangerine, grapefruit and clementine. To midway the citrus hops build in bitterness and attain a wafer thin resiny hop bite. It gets maltier into the finish as the bitterness grows to pleasing levels. The more of this 22 I drink the more I like it.

30th May 2015: live rating of a bomber with a beef curry. Poured three times into a La Chouffe tulip glass. Hazy deep amber pour, lightly tanned head. Hop front to the brew however the malty molasses almost balance out the bittering hoppiness, but not quite. Bitter and semi-sweet flavours battle it out in the mouth, I liked it: not the right beer to have with a curry but a very pleasant beer all the same.

Bottle @ Post-Easter Procrastination, Ulfborg. Pours clear ruby / copper brown with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel, vanilla and fruit, with notes of barrel. Bitter, hoppy onset, quickly replaced by the sweet, malty and fruity notes, and bitter notes of the ubiquitous alcohol. Bitetr aftertaste. Nice but quite bitter for the style.
