Description
This is how it all began; this is the heart of our history. Sir Gerald Wight, founder of the Caribbean Development Company (CDC), ensured that the production process, which was based on the European-Continental method of brewing with our own twist, was mastered before the company’s flagship beverage, Carib Lager Beer was sold in 1950. In fact CDC still produces the perfect lager today because our formula continues to include the best ingredients, unwavering quality and constant innovation.

Today Carib Brewery boasts a portfolio that includes Beer, Malt, Stout and Soft Drinks. We produce Carib, Carib Light, Stag, Pola and Pola Light, Shandy Carib, Mackeson and Guinness as well as the following nonalcoholic brands; Ginseng-Up, Malta Carib, Malta Carib Ultra, Smalta Smalta Smiles – over 1,200,000 hectoliters of product every year.

Our acute insight into what our consumers enjoy has also inspired us to form partnerships with international companies such as Heineken International B.V., Diageo and Ginseng Up Corporation. As a result Heineken, Guinness Stout, Ginseng Up and Smirnoff Ice are also part of our portfolio.

Refrigerated small format clear bottle after a long day from the bottle. Slightly hazy golden. Aroma is light grain, medium body, lower carbonation, and some lacing. Taste is pretty nice malt. This is not bad for what it is.

Just part of grab to up my shandy ticks and price was right I could’ve got the other Carib Shandy flavors but couldn’t bring myself to do it. Clear caramel color small soapy head. Nose is cream soda and lime. Tastes of vanilla, lime flavoring, caramel. Hint of malt. Pop stuff

330 ml bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours crystal clear pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of coconut, cracker, white bread, light honey, and mild herbal/grassy earthiness. A touch of skunky aromas, but hardly detectable. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of coconut, pale malt, and mild earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of coconut, cracker, white bread, light honey, and mild herbal/grassy earthiness. Very mild herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of coconut, cracker, white bread, light honey, and mild herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and balance of coconut, pale malt, and mild earthy hop flavors; with a solid malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero fruity notes present. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that us nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a nice fruited pale lager. All around nice robustness and balance of coconut, pale malt, and mild earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. Very flavorful and never watery for the ABV. I was expecting suntan lotion, but didn't get any of that. Not overdone on coconut. Nice authentic coconut flavors; with great balance of pils malts and mild balancing hops. Base pale lager is spot on, no adjuncts. A nicely enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

02.06.2018 -- 0.33l bottle from rewe in lörrach, 2.59€, bb 18.08.2018. pours a clear pale golden with a quickly disappearing head. aroma of wet grains, sweetish malts, very much like a non-alcoholic brew. flavour of grass, citrus, parsley, rice, wet cardboard. the taste is marginally better than the nose, at least it is not too sweet and has a hint of sourness and bitterness in the finish. for some reason it is slightly astringent, too. thanks rewe for introducing me to bad beer from across the globe.

Weinig nasmaak.
