Description
This is how it all began; this is the heart of our history. Sir Gerald Wight, founder of the Caribbean Development Company (CDC), ensured that the production process, which was based on the European-Continental method of brewing with our own twist, was mastered before the company’s flagship beverage, Carib Lager Beer was sold in 1950. In fact CDC still produces the perfect lager today because our formula continues to include the best ingredients, unwavering quality and constant innovation.
Today Carib Brewery boasts a portfolio that includes Beer, Malt, Stout and Soft Drinks. We produce Carib, Carib Light, Stag, Pola and Pola Light, Shandy Carib, Mackeson and Guinness as well as the following nonalcoholic brands; Ginseng-Up, Malta Carib, Malta Carib Ultra, Smalta Smalta Smiles – over 1,200,000 hectoliters of product every year.
Our acute insight into what our consumers enjoy has also inspired us to form partnerships with international companies such as Heineken International B.V., Diageo and Ginseng Up Corporation. As a result Heineken, Guinness Stout, Ginseng Up and Smirnoff Ice are also part of our portfolio.

330 ml bottle. Pours a clear light yellow with small, short lasting white head. Light malt aroma with some hops. Flavor is light sweet, grain and mild bitter finish. Watery texture and mild carbonation. Boring but thirst quenching in the Caribbean heat.

330ml bottle from beers of Europe. This might be great on a sunny beach. But light and tasteless on a cool spring evening.

Nose is cereal, sweat, slight metal; bleurch. Looks infected. Taste is cereal, a little honey, sweet faint herbal note in the finish. Very inoffensive.

Location: Cans in Jamaica, December '14
Aroma: The nose is adjunct lager, watery, some corn, light grass
Appearance: It pours a clear yellow color without much head or lace
Flavor: The taste is much the same, less skunky from the can, which is nice
Palate: The body is light and a little watery, with too much carbonation
Overall Impression: If they gave this a little less carbonation is would quench the thirst better in the heat. It still wouldn't have any flavor, but hey, one thing at a time.

Bottle received in trade from RobertDale, thanks for the opportunity! Pours a medium straw color with a huge bubbly white head that persists forever and leaves lots of stickies on the sided of the glass. Intense skunky aroma upon first opening the bottle, luckily that eventually dissipated. Light honey and sugary malt with a hint of floral hop to balance. The flavor is a bit sweet but ends up dry and has just enough hop flavor to keep it from cloying. Light body with a moderate to high level of carbonation and a slick sweet mouthfeel. Nothing offensive here, but certainly nothing exciting either. Maybe it tastes better on a hot Caribbean island?

275ml bottle received in trade from RobertDale, thanks for the opportunity! Pours a crystal clear dark straw color with a decent sized white head that dissipates rather quickly. Aromas of sweet honey like malt with a touch of carmelization, a hint of floral hop and a touch of minerals. The flavor is fairly sweet with a light sugary or honey like flavor with a touch of non descript fruitiness in it. Very faint earthy hop flavor and virtually no hop bitterness. Light body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet slick mouthfeel. nothing horrible about this beer, but I wouldn’t seek this out again unless I was on the island of origin

12 ounce bottle thanks to Sean. Pours a pitch black color with a medium light brown head. A light nose of lactose and metal. A nice flavor consisting of metallic roast, sweet smoke and molasses, some sweeter caramel. Pretty much spot on for the style, very drinkable and very enjoyable.
