750ml bottle from the Press bottle club. No bottle dating or vintage. Four weeks of sleep in the fridge. Mojito glass @home. Clear, oily, dark orange gold, lightly spirited pour. Smells citrusy & leathery over a macerated, slightly sweet & sharp apple blend. Slight fennel/clove that usually tells me something sloppy is going on but the citrus tries to bury it. Sharp & bittersweet citrus upfront, leaning semi-sweet & approachable. Leathery middle, decent acid, lingering earthy bittersweet apples, pedestrian fresh cider-honey sweetness, moderate sourness, light minerality, faint industrial apple & lingering lemon on the finish. Thin, moderately high acidity, slight wax, strong enough. Avoided the brand, but this has enough good in it that it's a waste of time to pick apart, just enjoy it. Good to great.

On tap at The Living Tap, pours a clear pale blonde with a very small white head. Aroma is floral and fruity, with a nice melange of guava, grapefruit and apple skins. Flavour is medium sweet, with sparkling grapefruit, a touch of guava, and gentle apple juice. The sparkling character helps this out a fair bit. Pleasant.

500ml bottle from Press. Boozy, sharp & a little ester-y on the nose. Boozy, a little banana, bittersweet apples, leaning sweet. Cream, veg, pithy, lime leaf, grape tannins, subtle oxidation. So damn boozy. Still, slight starch, watery flavor, crazy potent. Feels fortified. This is not the way.

Sample courtesy of minutemat, cheers Mat! Pale golden colour, thin white foam head that dissipates away and aroma of fragrant apple, floral, apple cumble notes. Taste is sweetish, fleshy, floral, apple, some tartness, a biscuity apple crumble hint, some skin and core, and acidity. Medium bodied, light carbonation, drying fruity Mcintosh eating apple finish. Nicely drinkable.

500ml bottle from National Brewery Centre. Pours clear shiny pale gold. It really does shine in the glass in a way I've never seen before. Aroma of sweet desert fruit, pear drops. Taste is exceptionally clean, sweet with what I assume to be Mcintosh apple fruit coming through, some pear drop notes alongside a soft acidity, with a drying close.

On tap at Schilling Cider House - PDX, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out bright apple skins, with some barnyard funk in there a la lambic. Flavour is along the same lines, with apple skins, with barnyard funk and mustiness. Not exactly lambic-like, but it's sure a creative one.
