Clear 750 via Press Online($22 before discount). Descriptions on the internet of this new to me berry: "kinda good" "okay" "multiple harvests" "emergency food source". Press had more positive words.

NV - No Vintage, though their own website has a 6.9%abv edition.

Clear mojito glass at home. Pours a peachy rosé, shy soda head.
Floral & very spiced nose, gum & subtle cranberry laced with apple cinnamon juice box.
Taste is sharp apples, lingering sugar for a semi-sweet feel & rounded botanicals. Old world herbs & serviceberry for that dark earthy sweet plus almond combo. Tastes like there's a boozy component. Finish is slick. I think its sweetness is distracting. Apple is definitively sharp, mildly tart & adds some skin astringency to keep up.

Fun to try new things.

Taster at Belmont Brew House. Clear brass pour, a few bubbles. Apples on the aroma, notes of orange and pomegranate. Taste brings out minor barrel notes, mulled apple vibe. Fruity, nice taste, muted strength.

Brown 750 from Press. A bit more than I wanted to spend but they talked it up & gave a tiny discount. A few weeks in the fridge, lo-ball glass at home after a wasted day at work.

Good cork snap. Translucent orange amber pour with a quick soda head; active. Just a weak bit of protein fog in the clarity.

Floral, sharp nose. 7up citrus & new leather, touch of fresh butter. Bittersharp meets bittersweet; Cedar. A touch round & subdued on the warmer second pour.

Bittersharp taste leaning sweet with a strong cooked down citrus rind bitterness. Snappy reds, oaky russets, no idea what the French varieties are but they're pedestrian & mellow-low in tannins, like watery iced tea. Lingering ginger brightness. Earthy russet & honey graham once the carb dies down(it sort of dies too fast in my glass). A touch of vanilla on my burps. There is some popsicle stick on the tail. No funk.

Excited & overtly crispy, candy sweet-tartness, medium acid, a warmth of booziness.

I think it's a great bridge into real cider, ...sorry, it is a real cider, just tamed, force-carbed with guardrails & its tits propped up a bit. Makes a great quaff, if you can afford it ($22 local, $28 online+ship).

Tasty.

Can from Press online. Pint glass at home during the post hurricane blackout. No cell service, but jotting down brews while they're still cool is better than cleaning up the yard right now. Beautiful, clear, medium gold/pale amber pour with a quick Guinness cascade. Minerally, white grape, black tea, industrial cider nose. Not yet impressed. First impression is russets & whiskey. A semi-sweet, bittersharp cider trying to lean drier. Black tea tannins, boozy, a lot of oak, slight veg. Middling to low, soft carb. Middle low acid. A bit of creaminess that lingers. Very slight boozy chem feel. Ended up being kinda good.

On tap at Portland taphouse. Pours clear deep yellow. Aroma has a touch of tannic skins. Flavour is semi-sweet apples. Not as funky as I hoped a french style would be.
