16 ounce can from Zipps Liquors in Minneapolis. Honey gold pour. Millions of tiny bubbles lead to a frothy white head. Earthy, grainy malt aroma hints at resiny hops. Flavor is dry, bitter and dank. Sticky pine and citrus fruit pith. Big old school West coast vibes. Interesting.

16oz can at home. Pink clear color, small white head. smells ginger, seaweed, earthy, bit herbal, nice smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes ginger beer, spices, flowery, light herbs, fruity. finishes lightly sweet with notes of ginger beer, herbs and fruity notes. Gimmicky but still drinkable

16 oz can purchased at Lunds & Byerlys Wines & Spirits in Golden Valley, Minnesota. The pour is a clear yellow golden with a small foamy white head. The aroma is straw, herbal and earth cereal grain. The taste is herbal, earth and straw from the nose, noble hops, plus some light honey. The palate is medium to light bodied with low, towards flat, carbonation and a clean earthy finish.

Sampled from the tap at Stone Arch MSP. Pours near black with a earthy brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice roast with a slight smoke and dark grains backing. Flavor has roast and light smoke with growing dark grains and a hint of bread underlying.

Black body, with a small tan head. Aroma of peppery coffee, maple, sweet spices, dark chocolate. Tastes quite similar, with more tobacco, some soy sauce. Medium oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation. Finishes medium boozy, medium roasty, moderate sweet, with pepper, coffee, some tobacco, some soy sauce. The coffee notes are a bit too much on the peppery side, especially in the nose. Still really nice, well balanced between roasty, sweet and spicy notes. Score: 7 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 15
