330ml bottle. Opalescent, orange golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy, strawy and slightly malty spicy aroma, hints of wet hay, horse dung, white pepper. Taste is slightly grainy, strawy and spicy, pale malty, minimally floral-fruity hoppy, subtle, pale caramel-like sweetness, some hop bitterness. Minimally oily, watery texture, slightly dry palate, medium, scattered, mildly prickly carbonation. Fairly balanced, clean, simple - not that bad.

Can (best by 9/24--looks like born 8/25/22) pour from Total Wine & More, Burlington. It's an opaque dark cola brown--virtually black--with no sparkle, light viscosity, finger-width beige head quickly fading to a ring and no lacing. Aroma is a strong earthy roasted malt with chocolate and hint of anise and coffee. Taste mirrors aroma. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth texture, average carbonation and crisp finish as taste. Overall, decent complexity and nice balance. A pleasant surprise!

330ml bottle into pint glass. From Beer Cartel. Very very dark brown beer with a thin beige head. Nose is sweet milk chocolate. Slight fizz, lots of coffee in the finish. Some lingering sweet fruit residue. High alcohol stout, nothing special.

1/11/2022. Can from Thirsty Liquor Namotomoto, Nadi, Fiji enjoyed at Likuri Island resort. Pours clear dark golden with a small lasting frothy white head. Aroma is boozy, sweet, malty, rubbing alcohol, sugar cane, caramel, slight starchy edge. Heavy sweetness and developing alcohol bitters. Medium body, sticky, soft carbonation. Super sweet warming toffee alcohol finish. As a slow sipper on a warm Fijian afternoon sat overlooking the beach after a big lunch and a nap it wasn’t unpleasant.
