Bottle from a colleague. Hazy copper with thin white head. Biscuit and diacetyl on aroma. Yes buttery. Some spicy herby hop. Just a touch of ginger. But mostly butter. Yuck. Drain pour.

Cask at The Gate, Northwood (Ember Inn). A golden/amber coloured pour with a small white head on top. Musty, citrus fruit aroma. Tastes of citrus fruit, bitter, hoppy. Rather unbalanced and hard work.

Cask, handpump at The Mitre, Cambridge, 15.02.12 Orangey/gold in colour with a white head and great clarity, looks very good. Good citrussy burst, citrussy throughout, good flourish of citrus (you may have guessed it’s very citrussy) and then bittersweetness on the finish, with dryness at the end to complete the picture, really nice beer, surprised that others have found it not so good. On tap at the Magpie. 2012 Hops! Clear amber gold beer, residual white head. Light dry palate. Pale malt. Hops are mild citrus orange and grapefruit. More bitterness than fruit - must be British hops! Okay but really not a top hop drink at all.

Cask at that pub on the corner just before you go round the backstreets to the Earl Of Essex! 2014 Hops! Wow! Almost clear gold beer, decent white head. Palate is smooth with modest carbonation. Light malt and light cream with a very mild rawness. The hops are unsurprisingly fresh if not that intense. Light piney sweetness and citrus. whisper of hop spice and lemon. Finishes smooth and semi dry. Mild bitter linger. Not bad!

Cask @ the Haymarket Bar, Edinburgh. Pours opaque black with a decent head. The nose is a bit elusive but eventually some chocolate biscuit notes come through as the head retreats. The taste is nutty chocolate with a caramel biscuit finish. The palate is medium bodied and textured with a nice clean finish. Overall, a good beer!
